A Lenoir County teacher was allegedly drunker than Cooter Brown and completely out of pocket—on the second day of school—and now, she’s facing criminal charges.
According to the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Alena Chabot was caught at E.B. Frink Middle School in La Grange with an open container of alcohol and prescription pills in her possession on August 26. Court docs say she was so lit she couldn’t even teach her class, and a substitute had to tag in.
Court records obtained by The North Carolina Beat allege that Chabot not only showed up faded—but she also pushed and grabbed two boys. Her behavior was described as “disorderly” and “disruptive” while being under the influence on school grounds.
Chabot was just hired on August 7, making this not just her first year, but her ninth day on the job.
Criminal Charges Filed Against Lenoir County Teacher
It took about two weeks, but on September 9, charges were officially filed against Chabot for:

She has since resigned from the district, and her next court date is set for December 1.
