Two <\/span>men from <\/span>North Carolina<\/span><\/a>, Thomas Mason<\/strong> and Davon Williams<\/strong><\/span>,<\/span> have been arrested <\/span>in<\/span> connection with <\/span>the murder of 22-year-old Anzaryia Cobb<\/strong><\/a><\/span>,<\/span> who<\/span> was <\/span>shot<\/span> and killed <\/span>on Sunday<\/em> night outside <\/span>an apartment <\/span>building<\/span> in Kinston<\/em>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On August 25,<\/em> Kinston<\/em> police <\/span>were<\/span> called <\/span>to <\/span>the <\/span>Mitchell Wooten Apartments <\/span><\/em>regarding<\/span> a shooting. <\/span>Upon<\/span> their<\/span> arrival<\/span> at<\/span> approximately <\/span>9:15 p.m., <\/span>they found <\/span>Cobb <\/span><\/strong>outside<\/span> building<\/span> 8 <\/span>with a gunshot wound<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

She<\/span> was airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center,<\/em> where she <\/span>later<\/span> died<\/span> from <\/span>her injuries.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

On Wednesday<\/em>, <\/span>the <\/span>Kinston Police <\/span>Department<\/span><\/em> announced<\/span> the<\/span> arrests<\/span> of <\/span>30-year-old\u00a0Mason<\/strong> and 24-year-old\u00a0Williams.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Williams <\/strong>faces<\/span> charges<\/span> of<\/span> first-degree murder, <\/span>attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and discharging a firearm within city limits. Mason<\/strong> is charged with five counts of accessory after the <\/span>fact<\/span>, five counts of felony conspiracy, and <\/span>a <\/span>felony probation violation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both men, of\u00a0<\/span>Kinston<\/em>, were <\/span>apprehended<\/span> by <\/span>the <\/span>Kinston Police Department\u2019s SWAT<\/em> team <\/span>on <\/span>Tuesday<\/em>. <\/span>Authorities<\/span> also <\/span>noted<\/span> that <\/span>neither <\/span>man<\/span> resided<\/span> at<\/span> the<\/span> Mitchell Wooten Apartments.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Cobb<\/strong>‘<\/span><\/strong>s<\/strong> family described her as a <\/span>loving<\/span> person,<\/span> a <\/span>dedicated<\/span> mother and daughter, and <\/span>someone<\/span> who <\/span>enjoyed playing basketball.<\/span><\/p>\n
