Hunter Huss teacher charged with two felony counts involving a student under 16<\/strong><\/h2>\n

GASTONIA, N.C. \u2014 A physical education teacher at Hunter Huss High School<\/strong><\/em><\/a> has been suspended after being charged with two felony sex-related offenses involving a student under the age of 16, according to court records and Gaston County<\/a> Schools<\/em> officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities said<\/a> Victoria Lynn Powell<\/em><\/strong>, 31, was arrested following an investigation that led to two felony counts of indecent liberties with a child. <\/span><\/p>\n

Court documents allege that on Nov. 1, 2025, Powell<\/em> \u201cunlawfully, willfully, and feloniously\u201d took or attempted to take immoral and indecent liberties with a minor for the purpose of sexual arousal.<\/span><\/p>\n

An arrest warrant was issued on Dec. 1, 2025, and Powell<\/em> is currently being held without bond, jail records show.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gaston County Schools<\/a> confirmed Powell<\/em> was hired in August 2021 and is currently working under a 10-month teaching contract for the 2024\u20132026 school years. The district also confirmed she was suspended with pay on Nov. 14, 2025, pending the outcome of the criminal case.<\/span><\/p>\n
