Warrants have been issued for a man accused of three counts of second-degree murder following a tragic incident on Memorial Day<\/em> in Garner, North Carolina<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

The individual, identified as 25-year-old Jordan Alexander Porter<\/strong>, was reported to have consumed alcohol and marijuana prior to the alleged killing of a family of three. The North Carolina Beat<\/em><\/a> initially released a photo of Porter<\/strong><\/a> on May 28<\/em>, one day after the crash, in the interest of public awareness. According to warrants obtained by The North Carolina Beat<\/em>, Porter<\/strong> was under the influence at the time of the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday<\/em>, grand jury promptly indicted him on three counts of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of 28-year-old Tyler Campbell<\/strong>, his 29-year-old wife Susan Campbell<\/strong>, and their 8-year-old son, Miles Campbell<\/strong>, who was declared brain dead the day following the tragedy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Suspect was driving 82 mph in a 45 mph zone\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As per the findings of the investigation, Porter was reportedly driving at a speed of 82 mph in a 45 mph zone at the moment of the collision, as documented in court records. A judge has determined that upon Porter’s arrest and booking, he will be detained on a bond of $3 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

May 27th<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On May 27<\/em>, the tragic accident occurred at the intersection of U.S. 70<\/em> involving a Chevy Trailblazer<\/em> driven by Porter<\/strong>, which ran a red light and collided with a blue Mazda CX5<\/em> Select<\/em> and a black Cadillac Escalade<\/em>. The Mazda<\/em> was occupied by Tyler<\/strong> and Susan Campbell<\/strong> and their 8-year-old son, Miles<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tyler<\/strong> and Susan<\/strong> lost their lives in the accident, while Miles<\/strong> was taken to WakeMed<\/em> in critical condition and was later declared brain dead. Miles’<\/strong> organs were donated to help save lives.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the investigation, Porter’s<\/strong> wife, revealed that Porter<\/strong> had consumed two to three beers at Rainbow Lanes<\/em>, a bowling alley in Clayton<\/strong>, and had also used marijuana before heading to work. Shelby<\/strong> mentioned to investigators that the car needed repairs, specifically the brakes and steering.<\/span><\/p>\n

The attorney representing Porter<\/strong>, Karl Knudsen<\/strong> said that it was horrible that the tree family members lost their lives but sending his client to prison for the rest of his life “would not change that.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is a terrible tragedy all the way around,” Knudsen said. “It\u2019s horrible that three really nice people got lives got cut short, but sending Jordan to prison for rest of his life would not change that.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He also informed the reporters that, according to the information they had, Porter’s blood alcohol level was below the legal limit.<\/span><\/p>\n

DWI upgraded to second-degree murder<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Following Porter<\/strong> was charged with DWI, but these charges were later elevated to second-degree murder. During the investigation of Porter’s<\/strong> vehicle, authorities discovered various items including an airplane bottle, rolling papers, an open can of Busch Ice<\/em>, an open Coors Light<\/em> bottle, an unopened can of Busch Ice,<\/em> open boxes of a 12-pack of Busch Ice<\/em>, a cigar cutter, and a lighter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grand jury charges suspect with slew of traffic charges<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In addition to the three second-degree murder charges, the grand jury has also charged Porter<\/strong> with several traffic violations, including expired inspection and registration tags, failure to stop at a red light, reckless driving, and other related offenses. Furthermore, he faces a felony count for maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, as well as charges for transporting an open container of alcohol after consuming alcohol and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2017<\/em>, Porter<\/strong> was involved in a three-car crash and faced a lawsuit, which was later dismissed. The lawsuit alleged that he was speeding, passing improperly, and unable to control his vehicle. He has also accumulated 12 violations since 2015<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n
