Virginia Pastor Makes Woman Stand Before Church and Tell Congregation She’s Pregnant, Denies Her A Baby Shower
On Sunday, Jan. 5, 2025, Pastor Terry W. Jackson of True Vine Apostolic Church of Christ in Hampton, Virginia, made a young woman stand before the congregation to apologize for being pregnant out of wedlock and even denied her a baby shower.
Pastor Jackson, addressing his congregation at 925 Old Buckroe Rd, said that the woman—visibly emotional and wiping away tears—would not be allowed to have a baby shower, nor should anyone from the church attend one.

Dressed in white and with a covering on her head, the woman stood before a packed church and tearfully said:
“I want to apologize to everyone in here because I am pregnant… Umm… I’m sorry, y’all… and I just hope that y’all all forgive me and keep on praying for me.”
Pastor Jackson Reaction:
The congregation responded with a standing ovation, but Pastor Jackson, struggling to rise from his chair, quickly shifted the tone. His words were not of comfort but of stern rebuke.
“You never wait later to repent,” he lectured. “If you sin, you repent now. You just don’t do it again. But you’ve got to repent.”
The pastor went on to say that the church would not “condone sin” by celebrating the impending birth.
“Ain’t no baby showers going on, That’s what you lose out at,” Jackson said in front of his congregation. “When you have a baby out of wedlock, ain’t no baby showers, and nobody at this church better attend one.”
He didn’t stop there Virginia pastor shames pregnant woman in church. Pastor Jackson even instructed the woman’s mother not to throw a baby shower for her daughter, warning that while she could care for her granddaughter, celebrating the pregnancy would be seen as condoning sin.
“Can’t have no baby shower… You lose all the prize and glory… You just lose all that,” Jackson said, seemingly equating the joys of welcoming a new life to some form of “reward” forfeited by her actions.
In a comment that we found very disturbing is when the pastor thanked God for sparing the woman’s life over her pregnancy.
“Thank God, God didn’t take you out of here,” he said.
