13-year-old South Carolina boy dies after getting severe beatings with piece of wood and gun

A 13-year-old boy from South Carolina tragically lost his life after enduring severe beatings, leading to charges against his mother and another individual.

Reports from WMBF reveal that Isaiah Gaymes was hospitalized in South Carolina following blunt force trauma, but sadly passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 11.

Ivey Jenerette faces murder charges and accusations of causing great bodily harm to a child, while Isaiah’s mother, Samantha Gaymes, is charged with endangering a child. Arrest warrants detail Jenerette’s alleged actions of inflicting multiple injuries on Isaiah, including broken bones, burns, and disfigurement.

Authorities also discovered a piece of wood and a handgun at the scene, both stained with blood matching Isaiah’s injuries. Investigators suspect Samantha of allowing the abuse to persist. According to the arrest warrant, Jenerette repeatedly hit Isaiah in the head with a piece of wood and a handgun on May 8 at their home in the Longs Community.

The investigation is ongoing.
