A North Carolina woman is behind bars after going live on social media and allegedly making disturbing threats against children while standing on school property.
37-year-old Heather Brooke Clarke was arrested and charged Thursday around 11:30 a.m., after officials say she streamed a video on social media from McMichael High School in Rockingham County, where she reportedly threatened students with mass violence.
According to law enforcement and school officials, Clarke was physically on school grounds — though not inside the building — when she started the video. What was supposed to be a normal day turned into chaos when school staff and the school resource officer spotted the livestream.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded, launching an investigation and detaining Clarke on-site.
After gathering evidence, Clarke was charged with a felony — communicating threats of mass violence on educational property. In addition, she is now permanently banned from setting foot on any Rockingham County School property.
