Second Suspect in Washington Murder Finally Caught After Months On The Run

After ducking the law for seven months, now 17-year-old Quamir Razor is finally behind bars—snatched up in Pitt County early Sunday morning for his alleged role in a deadly January shooting in Washington, North Carolina.

According to the Washington Police Department, Razor was arrested around 12:20 a.m. on July 13 by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, following a multi-state manhunt. The manhunt started after the January 7 shooting death of Sha’Mari Parker, a Leukemia survivor,  who was found shot after a car crash at Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Parker 20, was pronounced dead on the scene.

From the jump, detectives had their eyes on Quamir Razor and a 17-year-old named Zaydrian Starkie. Starkie got picked up back during the time of the incident but Razor was on the run—evading capture for over seven months.

Word on the street was he crept back into Beaufort and Pitt counties, which tipped off police. That’s when the NC SBI’s Criminal Apprehension Team joined forces with Pitt County deputies to close in on Razor’s location.

Razor is now being held without bond and facing murder and armed robbery charges. He’s due to make his first court appearance Tuesday, July 15, at the Beaufort County Courthouse.

Washington Police said multiple agencies from several states were involved in the search—but Razor couldn’t hide forever.
