South Carolina brother and sister arrested after ‘BRAWL’ over chicken not having seasoning on it

Word On The Curb… in South Carolina, a brother and sister found themselves in a heated brawl over a batch of chicken that didn’t have any seasoning on it.

27-year-old Anthony Harper, now facing charges for second-degree assault and battery, along with third-degree assault and battery, and his sister, 25-year-old Hope Harper, who’s also in hot water with a charge of third-degree assault and battery.

The drama unfolded last Sunday when deputies from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office were called to their home on Cody Lane. Hope, in a fit of rage and frustration, confronted Anthony about the unseasoned chicken, asking, “why he didn’t season the chicken that was cooking so it could crust up.”

This innocent question ignited a heated response from Anthony, who claimed, “I know how to cook, and Grammy was going to season the chicken.”

Things escalated quickly when Hope shot back at her brother, “You’re not human, you’re a dumb dog!” Her mouth led to Anthony allegedly shoving her into a kitchen table, where he then unleashed closed-fist punches, landing about five blows to her face. In retaliation, Hope scratched him on the arm, and the whole house went up.

Another member of the family intervened, firing a 9mm handgun into the ceiling in a desperate attempt to stop the brawl. But the messy family fight didn’t end there; Hope allegedly grabbed a steak knife and began chasing Anthony around the house, turning the whole scene into a bizarre family fight into something that you would see on tv. 

“She’s going to kill me,” the man allegedly said according to a police report, while breaking free and fleeing.

According to the police report obtained by Law & Crime, Anthony ran to his grandmother’s bedroom door, fearing for his life. Their grandmother emerged from her room, took a broom, and swatted at Hope until she put the knife down. Following that, Anthony picked up a can of Raid insecticide and sprayed it in Hope’s face and neck.

The report also mentioned that Hope then took the can and sprayed it back at him. When deputies arrived, both siblings expressed a desire to press charges against one another.

They were both arrested that night and later released on bond the following Tuesday.
