WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A teen fight turned into a shooting Monday morning at Leinbach Park.
According to police, the incident happened erupted around 9:52 a.m. at the park off Sally Kirk Road, right near Jefferson Middle School, when a pre-arranged fight between juveniles spiraled out of control. Before officers could even get there, guns came out — and multiple people started shooting.
Upon arrival, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy were dead on the scene. The two teens killed have been identified as 16-year-old Daniel Jimenez Millian and 17-year-old Erubey Romero Medina.
Authorities say the injured include: a 14-year-old girl, 15-year-old girl, 17-year-old girl, 18-year-old male, and 19-year-old female.
Investigators say this wasn’t just one shooter — multiple people were firing guns. But right now, police are still trying to figure out details .

Winston-Salem Police Chief William H. Penn, Jr. didn’t sugarcoat anything during the press conference — standing alongside Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough and District Attorney Jim O’Neill.
“I’m frustrated. I’m angry. I’m sad. This didn’t have to happen. This was senseless.”
